حَدَّثَنَا مُعَمَّرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ قُرَادٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " خُيِّرْتُ بَيْنَ الشَّفَاعَةِ، أَوْ يَدْخُلُ (٣) نِصْفُ أُمَّتِي الْجَنَّةَ، فَاخْتَرْتُ الشَّفَاعَةَ، لِأَنَّهَا أَعَمُّ وَأَكْفَى، أَتُرَوْنَهَا لِلْمُنَقَّيْنَ، لَا وَلَكِنَّهَا لِلْمُتَلَوِّثِينَ الْخَطَّاءُونَ " (٤) قَالَ زِيَادٌ: " أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَحْنٌ وَلَكِنْ هَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَا الَّذِي حَدَّثَنَا " (٥)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I was given the choice between two things: intercession or half of my Ummah entering Paradise, so I chose intercession, because it is more general and more sufficient. Do you think it will be for the pious? No, rather it will be for those who are involved in sins."
