Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا عُمْرَى، وَلَا رُقْبَى، فَمَنْ أُعْمِرَ شَيْئًا أَوْ أُرْقِبَهُ، فَهُوَ لَهُ حَيَاتَهُ وَمَمَاتَهُ "، قَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: قَالَ عَطَاءٌ: وَالرُّقْبَى هِيَ لِلْآخِرِ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: مِنِّي وَمِنْكَ (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no validity in giving land to someone until his death or for his lifetime; whoever is given such land, it will belong to him during his life and after his death as well."
