English translation

Mus'ab bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to visit Ibn 'Amir when he was ill. Ibn 'Amir said to him, "Why don't you pray for me?" Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied, "I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Allah does not accept charity from stolen spoils of war, nor does He accept prayer without purification, and you have been the governor of Basra."
