حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَابَيِ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ، ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ، فَقَالَ: " أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ تَحِيَّةَ الصَّلَاةِ كَمَا كَانَ، ، رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا، فَتَلَا عَلَيَّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ " يَعْنِي قَوْلَ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdullah bin Babi Al-Makki (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I prayed next to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). After finishing the prayer, he struck his hand on my thigh and said: "Shall I not teach you the greeting of prayer (tahiyyat al-salat) as the Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach us?" Saying this, he recited before me the words of tashahhud which are narrated from Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him).
