حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ آلِ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ قَالَ:، ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: إِنَّا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَصَلَاةَ الْحَضَرِ، وَلَا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا، فَإِنَّمَا نَفْعَلُ كَمَا رَأَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
A man from the family of Khalid bin Asid asked Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that in the Noble Qur'an we find mention of the prayer of fear and the prayer at home, but we do not find mention of the prayer during travel (even though the prayer is shortened during travel?). He replied that when Allah Almighty sent the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), we knew nothing; we will do as we saw him doing.
