حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَدِمَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ، (٢) فَخَطَبَا فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ بَيَانِهِمَا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ بَعْضَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرٌ، أَوْ إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that two men from the east came to the presence of the Messenger, and the people were amazed at the fluency and eloquence of their speech. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Some speech has the effect of magic."
