حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو، (١) عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى قَوْمٍ نَصَبُوا دَجَاجَةً يَرْمُونَهَا بِالنَّبْلِ فَقَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُمَثَّلَ بِالْبَهِيمَةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Saeed bin Jubair says that once, on a road in Madinah Munawwarah, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) passed by some people and saw that they had tied up a chicken and were practicing their aim on it. Upon this, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade mutilating animals.
