Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ كَانَ يَعِظُ أَخَاهُ فِي الْحَيَاءِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " دَعْهُ، فَإِنَّ الْحَيَاءَ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once an Ansari man was advising his brother regarding modesty (saying, "Do not be so modest"). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave him, for modesty is a part of faith."
