حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ، (٤) فَأَعْطَاهَا عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَحْمِلَ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلًا، فَأُخْبِرَ عُمَرُ أَنَّهُ، ، قَدْ وَقَفَهَا يَبِيعُهَا، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْتَاعُهَا، قَالَ: " لَا تَبْتَعْهَا (١) وَلَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a horse in the way of Allah to someone for riding. He had handed over that horse to the Prophet (ﷺ) so that he could give it to someone for riding. Later, he found out that the horse was being sold in the market. He consulted the Prophet (ﷺ) about buying it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not buy it, and do not take back your charity.
