حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَتَنَاجَ (١) اثْنَانِ دُونَ وَاحِدٍ "، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: فَإِذَا كَانُوا أَرْبَعَةً، قَالَ: " فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other excluding the third." The narrator says that I asked Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): What is the ruling if there are four? He replied: There is no harm in that.
