حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُبَاعَ الثَّمَرَةُ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا، قَالَ: قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا صَلَاحُهَا؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا ذَهَبَتْ عَاهَتُهَا، وَخَلَصَ طَيِّبُهَا (٢) " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the buying and selling of fruit before it ripens. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the fruit ripening? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When the risk of spoilage is gone from it and the good fruit becomes distinct."
