Translation

English translation

Bakr says that once I mentioned to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us this hadith that the Prophet (ﷺ) had assumed ihram for both Hajj and Umrah? He replied that Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is mistaken; the Prophet (ﷺ) initially assumed ihram for Hajj, and we also assumed ihram for Hajj with him. Then when the Prophet (ﷺ) reached Makkah, he said: "Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him should make it Umrah." And since the Prophet (ﷺ) had a sacrificial animal with him, he did not end his ihram.
