Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا (١) ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْجِنَازَةِ وَقَدْ " كَانَ (٢) رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرُ، وَعُثْمَانُ يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَهَا " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) and the three Caliphs (may Allah be pleased with them) used to walk in front of the funeral procession.
