حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا "، وَقَبَضَ إِبْهَامَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "A month is sometimes like this, like this, and like this." The third time, the Prophet (ﷺ) folded one thumb out of his ten fingers (i.e., 29 days).
