Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، (١) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَنَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ هَذِهِ السَّارِيَةِ، وَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ جِذْعُ نَخْلَةٍ " يَعْنِي يَخْطُبُ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon leaning against this pillar; at that time, it was a trunk of a date-palm.
