Musnad Ahmad Hadith 4713

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silk garment being sold, so he said to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), "If you were to buy it, you could wear it on Fridays or when delegations come to you?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "This is worn by the one who has no share in the Hereafter." A few days later, some silk garments came to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) from somewhere, and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) sent one of those garments to Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You yourself said about this what I heard, and now you have sent me this silk garment?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "I have sent it to you so that you may sell it and use its price for yourself, or make someone else wear it."
