Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، (١) حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: " قَدْ أُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي الضَّبَّ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a monitor lizard was presented before the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) neither ate it nor declared it unlawful.
