Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for protection nor a hunting dog, then his reward will decrease by one qirat every day." Someone said to him that Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) also mentions the dog kept for guarding crops? So Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has his own field, (that is why he remembers this exception very well).
