حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، (١) أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَابْنُ عَوْنٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مِنْ أَيْنَ يُحْرِمُ (٢) ؟ قَالَ: " مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ، وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ، وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ، وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ " وقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: " وَقَاسَ النَّاسُ ذَاتَ عِرْقٍ بِقَرْنٍ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): "From where should a person enter into the state of Ihram?" The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "For the people of Madinah, it is Dhu'l-Hulayfah; for the people of Sham, it is Juhfah; for the people of Yemen, it is Yalamlam; and for the people of Najd, it is Qarn." Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that later people made Dhat 'Irq analogous to Qarn.
