حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ: أَنْبَأَنَا، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قَرَأَ سُورَةَ النَّجْمِ فَسَجَدَ، وَمَا بَقِيَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ إِلَّا سَجَدَ "، إِلَّا رَجُلًا رَفَعَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى، فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، وَقَالَ: يَكْفِينِي هَذَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) performed a prostration of recitation at the end of Surah An-Najm, and all the Muslims also prostrated, except for one man from the Quraysh who took a handful of soil and brought it to his forehead and prostrated on it. Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that later I saw him killed in a state of disbelief.
