Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were walking with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by some children who were playing. Among them was Ibn Sayyad. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "May your hands be dusted! Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He turned and asked: "Do you bear witness (to that)?" 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Give me permission to strike his neck?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No, if he is the one you fear, you will not be able to kill him."
