Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: " صَلَّيْتُ، أَوْ قُمْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ قَائِمًا حَتَّى هَمَمْتُ بِأَمْرِ سَوْءٍ " قَالَ: قُلْنَا مَا هَمَمْتَ؟ قَالَ:، ، هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ وَأَدَعَهُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “No one should say: I am better than Yoonus bin Matta.”
