Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ (٣) ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، مِمَّا يُذَكِّرُ كُلَّ يَوْمِ الْخَمِيسِ، (٤) فَقِيلَ لَهُ: لَوَدِدْنَا، ، أَنَّكَ ذَكَّرْتَنَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ، قَالَ: إِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُمِلَّكُمْ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَتَخَوَّلُنَا بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ، كَرَاهِيَةَ السَّآمَةِ عَلَيْنَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that 'Abdullah said:
A man said: O Messenger of Allah, will one of us be blamed for what he did during the Jahiliyyah? He said: "If you do well (in Islam) you will not be blamed (for what you did during the Jahiliyyah), but if you do badly in Islam you will be blamed for your earlier and later actions”
