حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، لَمَّا رَأَى عُثْمَانَ صَلَّى بِمِنًى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ: " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ "، وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَخَلْفَ عُمَرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، لَيْتَ حَظِّي مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ رَكْعَتَانِ مُتَقَبَّلَتَانِ (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Abu wa'il said:
‘Abdullah used to give a reminder every Thursday, and it was said to him: We wish you would give us a reminder every day. He said: I do not like to bore you: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to choose the right time to exhort us for fear of boring us.
