حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الثَقَفِي، أَوِ، ، الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ - شَكَّ الْمَسْعُودِيُّ - عَنِ عَبْدَةَ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ، أَلَا وَإِنِّي آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ أَنْ تَهَافَتُوا فِي النَّارِ كَتَهَافُتِ الْفَرَاشِ، أَوِ الذُّبَابِ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ood from the Prophet (ﷺ) that he said:
"A man may continue to tell the truth and endeavour to be truthful until he is recorded as a speaker of truth or he may continue to tell lies and endeavour to tell lies until he is recorded as a liar."
