Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي، فَقَالَ: " سَلْ تُعْطَهْ يَا ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ " فَابْتَدَرَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا،، ، قَالَ عُمَرُ: مَا بَادَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِلَى شَيْءٍ، إِلَّا سَبَقَنِي إِلَيْهِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَسَأَلَاهُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ، فَقَالَ: " مِنْ دُعَائِي الَّذِي لَا أَكَادُ أَدَعُ: اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ نَعِيمًا لَا يَبِيدُ، وَقُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لَا تَنْفَدُ (١) ، وَمُرَافَقَةَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي أَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ، جَنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) went out to relieve himself and he said to me: "Find me three stones,” I brought him two stones and a piece of dung; he took the two stones and threw the piece of dung away, and he said: "It is dirt."
