Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَمَ " قَالَ وَكِيعٌ: " بِالْقَاحُوحَةِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) put together Zuhr and ’Asr, and Maghrib and ʻIsha’, when it was not raining and he was not travelling. They said: O Abu 'Abbas, what did he intend thereby? He said: To make things easy for his ummah.
