Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَبَهْزٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ بَهْزٌ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ أَضْحَى - أَوْ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ، قَالَ: وَأَكْبَرُ ظَنِّي أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ - فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهُمَا، وَلَا بَعْدَهُمَا، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ، فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ، فَجَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ تُلْقِي خُرْصَهَا وَسِخَابَهَا " وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ بَهْزٌ قَالَ: " يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ "، وَقَالَ: " صِخَابَهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The one who takes back his gift is like the one who goes back to his vomit."
