Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، وَمُؤَمَّلٌ، الْمَعْنَى، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَصَابُوا رَجُلًا مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَقَتَلُوهُ، فَسَأَلُوا أَنْ يَشْتَرُوا جِيفَتَهُ فَنَهَاهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ مُؤَمِّلٌ: فَنَهَاهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيعُوا جِيفَتَهُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Wear white garments, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them. Among the best of your kohl is antimony; it makes the vision clear and makes the hair grow."
