حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ،، ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: {عَلَى أَنْ لَا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا} [الممتحنة: ١٢] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {وَلَا يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ} [الممتحنة: ١٢] قَالَتْ: كَانَ فِيهِ النِّيَاحَةُ، قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِلَّا آلَ فُلَانٍ، فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ كَانُوا أَسْعَدُونِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَلَا بُدَّ لِي مِنْ أَنْ أُسْعِدَهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِلَّا آلَ فُلَانٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when this verse was revealed: « عَلَى أَنْ لا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا...», wailing was also included in it. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Exempt the people of such-and-such family, because they helped me in wailing during the days of ignorance, so it is necessary for me to help them as well. So the Prophet (ﷺ) exempted them.
