حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ (٢) ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ، وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ فِي عَهْدِ قُرَيْشٍ وَمُدَّتِهِمُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أُمِّي قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ، وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ، أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ قَالَ: " صِلِيهَا " قَالَ: وَأَظُنُّهَا ظِئْرَهَا (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Asma that once my mother came during the time of the treaty with the Quraysh. At that time, she was a polytheist and in need. I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "Can I maintain ties of kinship with her?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Yes, maintain ties of kinship with your mother."
