حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ الزُّبَيْرَ، زَوْجَهَا، وَكَانَ لَهُ فَرَسٌ كُنْتُ أَسُوسُهُ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْخِدْمَةِ أَشَدَّ عَلَيَّ مِنْ سِيَاسَةِ الْفَرَسِ، فَكُنْتُ أَحْتَشُّ لَهُ، وَأَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَسُوسُهُ، وَأَرْضَخُ لَهُ النَّوَى. قَالَ: " ثُمَّ إِنَّهَا أَصَابَتْ خَادِمًا، أَعْطَاهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "، قَالَتْ: فَكَفَتْنِي سِيَاسَةَ الْفَرَسِ، فَأَلْقَتْ عَنِّي مَئُونَتَهُ (١) (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Asma that when I was married to Zubair, I used to prepare fodder for his horse, provide for its needs, and take care of it. Similarly, I used to break date stones for his camel, prepare its fodder, give it water, and sew his bucket. Then, not long after, the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent me a servant, and I was relieved of the care of the horse, and it felt as if he had set me free.
