Abu Sadiq Naji says that when Hajjaj bin Yusuf had martyred Abdullah bin Zubair, he came to Asma and said, "Your son had chosen a crooked path in the Sacred Sanctuary, so Allah made him taste a painful punishment, and whatever needed to be done with him has been done." She replied, "You are lying. He was one who treated his parents well, fasted during the day, and stood in prayer at night. By Allah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) had already informed us that from among the Banu Thaqif, two great liars would soon emerge, and the second of them would be a greater source of evil and tribulation than the first, and he would be the destroyer."
