حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ (١) ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ بَعْضِهِمْ، عَنْ مَوْلَى لِأَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ذَوِي حَاجَةٍ يَأْتَزِرُونَ بِهَذِهِ النَّمِرَةِ، فَكَانَتْ إِنَّمَا تَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ (٢) سُوقِهِمْ، أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ، فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ، وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، يَعْنِي النِّسَاءَ، فَلَا تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى نَرْفَعَ رُءُوسَنَا " " كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ (٣) إِلَى عَوْرَاتِ الرِّجَالِ مِنْ صِغَرِ أُزُرِهِمْ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Asma that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: Any woman among you who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not raise her head from prostration until we men have raised our heads. In fact, the men's lower garments were short, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) disliked that women’s gaze might fall upon the men’s private parts, and at that time, people’s lower garments were these sheets (they did not have trousers).
