قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهَرَاقُ الدَّمَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاسْتَفْتَتْ لَهَا أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١) فَقَالَ: " لِتَنْظُرْ عِدَّةَ اللَّيَالِي وَالْأَيَّامِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُهُنَّ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصِيبَهَا الَّذِي أَصَابَهَا، فَلْتَتْرُكِ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْرَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ، فَإِذَا بَلَغَتْ ذَلِكَ، فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ، ثُمَّ تَسْتَثْفِرْ (٢) بِثَوْبٍ، ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Fatimah bint Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "My blood keeps flowing continuously." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That is not menstruation; it is blood from a vein. You should estimate the days of your menstruation and sit aside during those days. Then perform ghusl, tie a cloth, and offer prayers."
