حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِذَا وَجَدَ الْمُكَاتَبُ مَا يُؤَدِّي، فَاحْتَجِبْنَ (١) مِنْهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When any of your female slaves has a slave who is a mukatab (one who has a contract of manumission) and he possesses enough to pay the amount of his contract and thereby attain his freedom, then that woman should observe veil from her slave.
