حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: " كَانَ يُقَطِّعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ آيَةً آيَةً: {بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: ١] {الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ} [الفاتحة: ٢] {الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ} [الفاتحة: ١] {مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ} " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Abi Mulaykah that someone asked Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) about the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ), so she said that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite each verse separately, breaking them apart. Then she recited the first three verses of Surah Al-Fatihah, breaking them apart (pausing at the end of each verse) to demonstrate.
