حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ (٣) صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الْخَمْرِ، " قَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ثُمَّ حَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ " (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah "which are related to usury" were revealed, the Prophet (ﷺ) recited them in the mosque and also declared the trade of alcohol to be forbidden.
