حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ النَّخَعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهَا كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا هُوَ جُنُبٌ، (١) وَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ؟ قَالَتْ: " كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، ثُمَّ يَنَامُ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) wanted to sleep or eat in a state requiring ghusl, he would perform ablution as for prayer.
