حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ، تَقُولُ: دَخَلَتْ عَلَيَّ يَهُودِيَّةٌ فَقَالَتْ:، ، هَلْ (١) شَعَرْتُ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ، قَالَتْ: فَسَمِعَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَارْتَاعَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا يُفْتَنُ الْيَهُودُ " فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَلَبِثْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَيَالِيَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " هَلْ شَعَرْتِ أَنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to me and a Jewish woman was sitting with me, and she was saying, "Do you know that you will be tested in your graves?" The Prophet (ﷺ) turned towards us and said, "Only the Jews will be subjected to trial." After some time had passed, one day the Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Did you know that revelation has come to me that you will be tested in your graves?" After that, I always heard the Prophet (ﷺ) seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
