Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to test the Muslim women who migrated to him according to the conditions of this verse in which Allah Almighty says: "O Prophet (ﷺ), when believing women come to you to pledge allegiance to you on these conditions—that they will not associate anything with Allah, will not steal, will not commit adultery, will not kill their children, will not bring any falsehood between their hands and feet, and will not disobey you in any good matter—then accept their pledge and ask Allah for forgiveness for them. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that if any believing woman accepted these conditions, the Prophet (ﷺ) would say with his tongue, "I have accepted your pledge." By Allah, the Prophet (ﷺ) never took the hand of any woman in his hand for the pledge, rather he would only say, "I have accepted your pledge."
