حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ، صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَدْنَ أَنْ يُرْسِلْنَ عُثْمَانَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ يَسْأَلْنَهُ مِيرَاثَهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ لَهُنَّ عَائِشَةُ: أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا نُورَثُ، مَا تَرَكْنا (١) فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that after the passing of the Prophet (ﷺ), the noble wives wished to send Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) to Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) in order to receive their share from the inheritance of the Prophet (ﷺ). So Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to them, "Do you not know that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'We do not leave anything as inheritance; whatever we leave behind is charity.'"
