Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ أَبُو خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيٍّ، وَالسُّلْطَانُ وَلِيُّ، مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: If a woman marries without the permission of her guardian, her marriage is not valid, and the ruler will be the guardian of the one who has no guardian.
