حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَاصِمٍ (٣) مَوْلًى لِقُرَيْبَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ قُرَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصَّوْمِ،، ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ: " إِنِّي (١) لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade continuous fasting. I asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "But you observe fasts in this manner?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "I am not like any of you. I spend the night in such a state that food and drink are provided for me."
