Musnad Ahmad Hadith 26030

Narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) became ill. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), his freed slave Amir bin Fuhairah, and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also became ill. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) sought permission from the Prophet (ﷺ) to visit them for inquiry, and the Prophet (ﷺ) granted her permission. She asked Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) how he was feeling, and he recited this verse: "Every person wakes up among his family while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal." Then I asked Amir, and he recited this verse: "I feel death before tasting its bitterness, and the graveyard has come close to my mouth." Then I asked Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) about his condition, and he recited this verse: "Alas! Who knows if I will ever spend a night again in Fakh, with 'Idhkhir' and 'Jaleel' grass around me." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) went to the court of the Prophet (ﷺ) and informed him of their words. The Prophet (ﷺ) looked towards the sky and said: "O Allah! Make Madinah beloved to us as You made Makkah beloved, or even more so, even more so. O Allah! Bless the sa’ and the mudd of Madinah, and transfer its disease to Hajfah."
