English translation
Narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) came to my house, he said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Aisha submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Bakr is a soft-hearted man; he will not be able to control his tears, because whenever Abu Bakr recites the Holy Qur'an, he starts weeping." And I said this only so that people would not start saying about Abu Bakr that he was the first man to stand in the place of the Prophet (ﷺ) and thus become sinful. But the Prophet (ﷺ) again said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." When I repeated it, the Prophet (ﷺ) gave the same order and said, "You are like the women who were infatuated with Yusuf (Joseph) (who concealed something in their hearts and expressed something else with their tongues)."
