حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي وَائِلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْبَهِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: " مَا بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ فِي جَيْشٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَوْ بَقِيَ بَعْدَهُ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) sent Zaid bin Harithah with an army, he appointed him as the commander of that army: If he had lived after the Prophet (ﷺ), the Prophet (ﷺ) would have appointed him as his successor.
