حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ يَدْعُو، حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَسْأَمُ لَهُ مِمَّا يَرْفَعُهُمَا يَدْعُو: " اللهُمَّ فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشْرٌ، فَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِشَتْمِ رَجُلٍ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ آذَيْتُهُ " (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) spread his hands and prayed: O Allah! I am also a human being, so if I have struck or caused harm to any of Your servants, then do not hold me accountable for it.
