Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ صَاحِبُ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ، عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ امْرَأَةٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَامًا، فَلْيَقُلْ بِسْمِ اللهِ، فَإِنْ نَسِيَ فِي أَوَّلِهِ، فَلْيَقُلْ: بِسْمِ اللهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) said: When any one of you eats food, he should say Bismillah over it. If he forgets to say Bismillah at the beginning, then when he remembers, he should say: Bismillah fi awwalihi wa akhirihi.
