Musnad Ahmad Hadith 25731

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) would come to her while he was fasting, and then ask, "Do you have anything with you at this time of the morning that you can give me to eat?" She would reply, "No, we have nothing at this time of the morning." So the Prophet (ﷺ) would say, "Then I will remain fasting." And sometimes he would come and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) would say, "A gift has come to us from somewhere, which we have kept for you, and it is hais (a type of sweet dish)." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I had intended to fast this morning," and then he would eat it.
